The Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) is the leading provider of health and safety solutions to industry, commerce, public sector and professional bodies within the UK. It is a major independent research and consultancy centre of scientific excellence in the fields of occupational epidemiology and environmental health, hygiene and safety.
IOM has established a worldwide presence on chemical and nanotechnology-risk issues and have long standing recognised expertise in hazard (in vitro, dose response modelling), exposure assessment (e.g. measurement and modelling), risk assessment and governance for workplace hazards, including NMs in support of regulation and industrial innovation both commercially and through funded research.
Additionally IOM is a WHO collaborating centre in occupational health, providing reviews for policy of emerging issues for the EC and our specialists also contribute to expert committees including ISO TC 229, OECD WPMN and BSI committees as well as being members of EU-US nano EHS communities of research and the EU Nanosafety Cluster.
