Conference
NanoInnovation 2022 will be focused on innovation and technology transfer, with a particular relevance on some of the main themes foreseen in the PNRR (Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza), dedicating specific moments of discussion and dialogue.
The event represents the national meeting place for the wide and multidisciplinary community involved in the development of nanotechnologies and their integration with other key enabling technologies (KETs), in all application fields. The event is designed to inform all interested players:
Researchers, technologists, managers, entrepreneurs and investors can share their experiences, opinions and expectations about the role of nanotechnologies for future innovations
Professionals and business operators can better understand how to take advantage from the use and application of nano-related products.
Young researchers, PhDs and students can gather latest insights on scientific and technical developments in nanotechnologies
Media and the public can have an overview of concrete and up-to-date applications of nanotechnologies
Time: 19-23 September 2022
Venue: Renaissance Cloister by Sangallo at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of “Sapienza” University of Rome in Via Eudossiana 18.
Workshop
On Wednesday, September 21, 14:00–15:30, SbD4Nano one of our fellow EU projects, Gov4Nano, a project on nano risk governance, will hold the workshop “Beyond state of the art, through Safe and Sustainable Development approaches for materials development” together.
The workshop will showcase experiences and activities at European and national level on the Safe and Sustainable Development of materials. Case studies from Gov4Nano, Sbd4Nano, Sunshine, SAbyNA, BBI-JU Mandala and other EU research projects will be presented.
The safety and sustainability of chemicals and materials and their applications is a cornerstone of current EU policy and industrial strategies. Policy makers and industrial actors are working to identify frameworks and criteria for the practical implementation of the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS), and these will increasingly become premium aspects to access funding and contracts. Nanomaterials provide an exemplar of initial implementation of SSbD.
The workshop will reflect on the recent policy discussion at EU at national level and will provide examples and case studies from research and production processes and will illustrate findings of Gov4Nano and other EU projects on the matter.
The workshop is also open to both innovators and risk managers in research organizations, companies, institutions and other organizations active and interested in the safety and sustainability of advanced materials, nanomaterial and related products.
